When the coils around the power input shaft are fully energized, the ferromagnetic fluid completely fills the gap between the power input plate and the power output plate. The magnetic field from the input shaft flows through the input plate and ferro magnetic material to join with the output plate.

At this point the power output shaft is receiving all of the power that the power plant is providing to the power input shaft.
